Terms of Service
The service is free, with published fair-use limits and no subscription. By using it you agree to the terms below.
Free Use, Honest Limits
The identifier is free for personal use with no account required: 10 identifications per day, up to 6 per hour. Each identification can include up to 3 photos. Limits reset at midnight UTC. It is a real limit, and publishing it is how we keep the service free and sustainable for everyone. Automated or excessive use may be rate-limited or blocked.
Identification Accuracy
Results are produced by AI and can be wrong, including confidently wrong. Every result shows a calibrated confidence level and likely alternatives — read them. Scientific names are checked against the GBIF species database; names that don't match a known species are shown as not confirmed.
Any toxicity information shown is general reference information about the species the tool identifies. It is not a guarantee about the plant in your photo, because an identification can be wrong, and it is not veterinary or medical advice. The service does not assess edibility, does not diagnose plant diseases, and must not be used for safety-critical decisions. If a pet or person has eaten any plant, contact a veterinarian or a poison control service immediately.
The Service Itself
The service identifies plants only (houseplants, garden plants, trees, shrubs, weeds, succulents, herbs and flowers). It does not identify mushrooms or other fungi and must never be used to decide whether a mushroom or any wild food is safe to eat.
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We may adjust fair-use limits, change how the service works, or discontinue it, and we may enforce limits against abuse to protect availability and cost for everyone else.
You retain all rights to your photos. You give us nothing but the temporary permission needed to process the identification request you submitted.
